Our Impact

A place to be herself

Armin Gandhi

In 2018, at the age of 68, Armin found her way to Ahura Support. Like many of our other residents, she had no permanent address and no known family to turn to. What she did have, however, was quiet resilience, a gentle nature and a heart that longed for connection.

Journey to dignity and joy

Freny Desai

For Freny, life is all about presence; finding comfort in routine and joy in the smallest moments. Born with Down’s Syndrome, she learned, very quickly, to express herself through gestures, smiles and an eagerness to be helpful. Freny has always preferred company over solitude. Yet, for much of her life, stability was uncertain

Finding home again

Freny Gazdar

In 2018, at the age of 78, Freny Gazdar arrived at the Ahura Support Residential Home (ASRH) not just as a resident, but as someone seeking stability in a world that had changed around her. Having spent most of her life at the residential facility of another organisation for the differently abled, she found herself at a crossroads when it shut down.

Humming his own tune

Kersi Khodaiji

When you hear a buzzing sound, you know Kersi is humming his way into the room at Ahura Support. At 58 years old, Kersi Khodaiji has found comfort and care with us. When his previous residential care facility shut down, he was welcomed by Ahura Support and has been a resident here since 2018.

Finding belonging at Ahura Support

Yezdi Mehta

One of our most active residents and a certified night owl, Yezdi Mehta, now 66 years old, moves with restless energy. He paces up and down, never quite still, his mind and body constantly in motion. At Ahura Support, his hyperactive nature is not a problem to be solved but a part of who he is — one that is understood, managed and embraced as part of the Ahura Support family.
